Chris Stubbs is a photographer living in Santa Barbara, California. He has been photographing people, landscapes, and music since before there were digital cameras, and his work has been published in Relix magazine. A lifetime of moving between the eastern and western United States, pursuing outdoor sports, and a passion for music and adventure inspires Chris to create unique and personality-filled portraits of people and their lives. He draws inspiration from subjects as grand as mountain climbers on Denali and as subtle as the play of morning light on a child’s face. His work is informed by the idea of capturing a “slice of life” in a photo, one instant that captures the beauty inherent in each person or moment.

Within the realm of portrait photography, Chris’s photographs stand out because he captures some aspect of his subjects' interests or essence. Chris uses natural light to capture the beauty in a person, couple, or group while also highlighting something special and personal about them. These photos not only document moments – they illustrate lives.
